The idea was simple yet revolutionary — bring the best hard rock, specifically hard rock, bands together in one place and let as many people come as possible. The inaugural fest was held in England and featured Rainbow, Judas Priest, Scorpions, and more. It grew in size and became an internationally touring festival. The 1986 edition of the fest had North American and European legs, with the European run featuring Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, M.S.G., Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Warlock. This vintage tour shirt, deadstock in excellent condition, is from the 1986 European edition of the Monsters Of Rock festival.
